The main body will be made from both MDF and Ply. This will save weight and make the top half of the Droid much lighter.Because most of the body will be open the Ply is going to look much nicer than MDF, but the down side is that I will need more of it to keep the strenght up. I will also use threaded rods to support the rings when everything is glued together.

At the moment I am just cutting parts and working on the main structural elements.
